I have chosen to read 'The Midnight Blue'. By Pauline Fisk. This book is about a girl who runs away from her home in her next door neighbor's house.
Journey Book Project: What is the Journey in the book so far? Find a passage or quote that best describes that journey, write it (with page number) then explain what it means and why it is an important description of the journey.
The book, so far, is about a girl that lives with her Mother, Maybelle. Maybelle is very afraid of her own Mother, Grandbag. So one day Grandbag came to Bonnie's, the girl, house, and Bonnie didn't want to be around Grandbag so she hid and her granny saw her and then Bonnie jumped out her window. Maybelle chased her and she kept running away. But she got a wall she found a part on the wall that was covered with ivy but there was no bricks behind the wall so she went through the ivy wall and it led to a garden. In that garden lots of secrets were revealed and she saw a man. When she went back that night the man was there but he was blowing up a big piece of cloth with heat. It went up into the air and landed somewhere else. She met the man that owned the garden and they had breakfast together. I think that the journey will be that she goes into the clouds to a magical world and then she prefers the magical world to her own and doesn't know whether to stay or go back.
Page 33 'I want to come too.' I think this is important because if she hadn't asked this question then she wouldn't have been going up to the sky and if she didn't go to the sky then she wouldn't have gone to the magical world and she wouldn't be stuck in a decision of going home or staying where she wanted to be. She wanted to go up into the sky but at first Michael wouldn't let her go with him.
